Title: Radiator
Post by: NT-FC on October 19, 2010, 11:05:22 AM
Hi,

Have a pretty much standard grey in FE but it is struggling to stay cool up here in the tropics, what is the easiest radiator conversion that doesn't require me to shop the old girl up?

Thanks for reading

Deano

^^ I agree with Stinky.

Bought a triple core triple flow desert cooler for my XU1 and its a great product. Looks factory too.
Car just never gets hot and its running high compression with no mechanical fan. In winter I very rarely use the electrical fan and only in traffic in summer.

I'm pretty sure Norm does the same style using the original FE/FC top and bottom tanks.

Thanks Guys, desert cooler it is, just awaiting for a freight quote.  You guys have views on aluminium vs copper?

I steered away from the aluminium ones after hearing stories of stray current eating them away in a short period.

This issue can be overcome but I think in your application a triple core/flow copper one will do the job just fine. Norm will give you great advice regards this.

Make sure you get inside the engine itself as clean as possible before fitting the new radiator and use a radiator filter or stocking to prevent your new radiator from getting clogged.
