Title: Chrome covers for suspension/sub frame bolts Post by: Jordo on April 06, 2010, 10:03:45 PM Hi all, I noticed a few nice touches to the engine bays, where the 4 bolts that hold the sub frame to front cross member, it was a chrome cover, could anyone give me the person or place that makes them, as I would like to put them on my car, thanks for a great nationals.

Title: Re: Chrome covers for suspension/sub frame bolts Post by: customFC on April 07, 2010, 12:54:28 AM Hey Sharyn
If memory serves me correctly, this guy used to make the covers in stainless steel years ago. Sam (03) 5822 1379. Worth a phone call. You could get a metal merchant to cut some stainless or aluminium into discs and glue them on. will see what tube i have tommorow i have to make a set for mine i can chamfer top edge on the lathe as well. Just wondering but I can make them a snug fit but what happens when you want to get them back out the hole. I was thinking of putting a button head bolt drilled and tapped in the top and if they had to ever come out i could screw a grease nipple in and hydraulic them back out ??? will measure up tommorow if i get time. |
