Title: Drum brake refitment problem Post by: brads59 on April 03, 2010, 03:54:41 PM Gday guys, im having a drama fitting my new drum brakes for my FC
I have had the drums machined, all the wheel cylinders re sleeved,new shoes bonded and new lines and master cylinder. I have done 3 corners successfully but the rear passenger side is causing me grief. I cant get the shoes to compress enough to fit drum on. There is no fluid yet so its not that, the shoes wont lock into the slots on either side of the wheel cylinder,the rod with the spring on it wont let shoes close enough. Any ideas. It turned out that the rear park brake cable was seized and not releasing all the way. The handbrake cable needs replacing and ive tried bleeding the new brakes up but only getting fluid to drivers front,so im taking all the hard lines out now and replacing them with new ones ::) Will it never end ho hum |
