Title: Front seat rails Post by: stapla on January 31, 2010, 03:01:12 PM Has anyone pulled their front seat rails apart ? I managed to get my apart by using a persuading tool (hammer) and a lot of swearing.
Now the challenge to get them back together. The main issue is getting the bearing / wheels into the rail unit. Cheers Peter. Title: Re: Front seat rails Post by: mcl1959 on January 31, 2010, 05:36:49 PM Why did you pull them apart?

Get another pair, clean them carefully and then lightly re-grease and you'll be sorted. Generally the rod that goes from the drivers side to the passenger side is bent so straighten this as well while you are at it. Title: Re: Front seat rails Post by: stapla on January 31, 2010, 08:05:56 PM I guess its been a hobby of mine since I was a kid to take things apart to see how they work and not be able to get them back together ;)
On this ocassion, I took them apart to get the mounts zinc plated. After a bit of mucking around this arvo, I've got em back together but will wait until they are in the car until I know how well they work (or not) Cheers Peter. |
