Title: diff mods Post by: pedro on December 18, 2009, 05:53:17 PM G'day all, just wondering if it it's legal to change the mounts on a diff yourself or do you have to get an exchange one with certification.

Pedro Title: Re: diff mods Post by: mcl1959 on December 18, 2009, 09:26:10 PM Pedro make sure you don't add too much heat - welding spring mounts is the easiest way to put a slight bend in the housing and will give you axle grief later on.
FC 427 is 100% right - if your engineer looks at your welds and he sees quality - all is well. If he sees poor welding he will question it. So if you're skills are fine there is no problem at all.
