Title: Completed Cars
Post by: Rusty_T on December 13, 2009, 07:27:44 AM
Jason,

In response to your post of October this year ( Re Completed Cars), I reckon it has merrit, so here is the start to something different. These are our cars. The wagon was finished in time for Mt Gambia and the sedan we've, had for about 6 years.

Hope this starts something

Thanks Rusty,

We had some success in whats in a name, ie user names with lots of involvement from the forum members but not much this way, would be great to see everyones drive, from today or from the past with them standing proudly in front.

So theres the challenge to all, even the moderators to put a bit spark into it.

Unfortunately I don't have a current ride to show... But will try and dig up a previous one.

Cheers
Jason

Thanks Marc,

I have some photos of that one when it arrived...

Heres a couple of my rides... will have to do until I get the ute finished, as no one really wants to see a Holden Barina lol
First one is an A320, the second is a BMW K1200R, and the ute and the van before the van was sold and the ute was in bits. So it fills the face to a name bit i guess.

The thermofan makes that first one look a bit strange...

But the other 3 look real good!  8) 8)

Having made a smartarse comment, I'd better participate as per what fevanv6 intended  ::)

My sort-of almost nearly completed daily (affectionately called 'the baitwagon', warm SBC 283 on gas, modded T350, 9", GTS monaro interior) -

sorry, no pic of its smelly old cantankerous fisherman owner
(no need to compromise the class and style of this forum...)

Someone really wants this ute; yesterday they made an offer that'll be difficult to resist, and it involves a HK Prem wagon completely original and unmolested

My 'other' car; an FC sedan, doesn't rate a pic here - it's not completed (and probably never will be  ::))

cheers
jack

Dunno about "completed" cars, road registered maybe  :P, just putting them up to boost the FE count  ;D

My FE Sedan, "completed" for the 2006 Nats, mods/changes ongoing since then, one day I'll be happy with it  :-\

My wife's FE Ute, got it running for the 2006 Nats, got defected on the way back, it's now gone to the back of the queue  ::)

So if I am not mistaken thats 9 Fe's to 2 Fc's... Good work.

What was the ute defected for stinky?

Marc, that looks like a fancy paint job in the engine bay, how was that done?

Title: Re: Completed Cars
Post by: Ed on December 14, 2009, 12:52:21 PM
is this for Completed FE FC's or.. open to anything and everything?

Title: Re: Completed Cars
Post by: JB on December 14, 2009, 01:03:32 PM
Hey Ed,

Add another Fe to the list with you and your wagon, then your current stuff, I think if we can get at least one current or old FE/FC on there and then the rest is optional. No rules just all for fun and something different.

What do you think?

OK then; if "completed" can mean registered and driven -

What was the ute defected for stinky?

What else but too low  ::) then at the inspection DOT took a dislike to some of the rust underneath the car and applied another yellow sticker  >:( They want to see repairs in bare metal before the stickers come off.

Hey Jack, do you have an pics of the interior  :P

Thats a nice and tidy sedan Jack, I haven't seen that one before.

The Fe digs have been to try and get some interest... Look it worked  ;D ;D

Seriously it is good to see some fresh pictures of what we love to drive everyday, or used to.

Keep them coming!!!

Here's another one for the FC pile. Got it running so on weekends I could drive it over a couple of suburbs to have a cup of coffee.
It's as stock as I could make it but still keep it driveable.

Here is our FC 219 on the way to Mt Gambier 08, we had only just completed it hours before so I opted for the trailer as we didn't have time to iron out any bugs.

Still have a longish list work to be done, but it gets out and about quiet a bit & near enough to being completed.

This photo was taken to go with an article that appeared in the Sun Herald a few years back about the phasing out of Lead Replacement Petrol. I've been using a crop of one of these pics as my avatar for the best part of quite a while.

Brett's old wagon is a favourite of mine. Such a good looking car.

And if people haven't seen Brett's FC 'Spec' sedan in person then lets hope it gets to Orange so you can see it.

That EH is pretty special as well.

Here's mine.

November '59 special sedan. Corsair Tan over India Ivory.

June '58 special wagon. One owner before I got it and in very original condition. Sold a few years back  :'( :'(

And my non-FC old car, a Rally Red 8/70 LC GTR XU-1. In the first 100 XU-1's built (number 83).

Unfortunately i haven't got any pics of my first two wagons,

This is my third, I bought the shell from the council abandoned vehicle auction for $5 and built the rest out of bits and peices i scrounged, it was a different world back then no one wanted old holdens and you could get parts from wrecks at the dump.

FC sedan i bought from the wreckers in geelong and drove back to Qld.

FC sedan i bought off my brother had a hot 149 that would spin the wheels in second with a column shift.

One of my favourites an FE sedan i had to sell when our second daughter came along.

FC sedan i restered a few years ago.

The wagon I'm doing up now as i bought it.

It looks big enough, but it fills quickly when you put projects, machinery and parts in it. I also have a 12ft caravan to restore in there and my speed boat.

Hi all, well Mick and I have had quite a few cars over the years. So I will start back in the early 80's when I was 15 and Mick was 17 with our first car.

(http://s1.postimage.org/1InoX0.jpg) ($2)
Ford Falcon XC

Our next one

(http://s1.postimage.org/1Inwqr.jpg) ($2)
Black FJ

Then we swapped the FJ for this

(http://s3.postimage.org/1mZgPi.jpg) ($2)
Ford Falcon XY GT Phase 111 look alike. It had everything except the compliance plate. We stupidly sold the XY to move out of home.

After quiet a few years, a move to Canberra and a couple of kids we purchased this from Goulburn

(http://s1.postimage.org/1Io4lr.jpg) ($2)
Red FJ Special. We then again stupidly sold this one to get a racehorse. Bad mistake learnt.

After a while we decided to look for another FJ. Went to a property in Murrumbateman to look at a shell and found this next to it.

(http://s3.postimage.org/1mZAMr.jpg) ($2)
Holden FE Special Wagon. The one Zulu has now. He purchased it off me.

Then we found this one over the other side of Canberra

(http://s2.postimage.org/2rqFr.jpg) ($2)

(http://s3.postimage.org/1mZKL0.jpg) ($2)
Holden FC Special Wagon. We started to fix this one up.

(http://s3.postimage.org/1mZPKi.jpg) ($2)

(http://s2.postimage.org/2t0r9.jpg) ($2)

We also found this one just out of Canberra on a property going towards Sydney.

(http://s4.postimage.org/186NQ0.jpg) ($2)
Another Holden FC Special Wagon

Well we sold all them, regretting it now.

Then Mick found this and bought it.

(http://s3.postimage.org/1m_q9r.jpg) ($2)
Holden FB Special.
The couldn't get it to go so he sold it to a friend. That friend didn't pay so we got it back. Then sold it again to a guy not too far away. Went back there about a year ago to see if he still had it and bingo, there it was. Sitting in his garage for the past 10 or so years. The guy put a reconditioned motor and gearbox in it. Mick asked him if he wanted to sell it and he said yes that he needs the money. So we got it back for nearly the same amount as it got sold for with a new motor. Yay.

This is when it came back last year.

My passion for old holdens came back and we purchased this one off Ebay from QLD.

(http://s2.postimage.org/2tVOr.jpg) ($2)
Holden FC Special sedan. It wasn't in as good condition as we were told but we will use it as spare parts.

Then we found this one on Ebay in Canberra and bought it straight away.

(http://s1.postimage.org/1IpA7S.jpg) ($2)

(http://s4.postimage.org/187vJA.jpg) ($2)
Holden FC Special sedan.

Oh and this is me. I haven't got any of me with my car as yet.

Well I hope you enjoyed reading my story.

Cheers
Janette

No shed is ever big enough. I am builing another shed now, 16m x 9m or a 50 x 30 on the old scale and it is already all spoken for.

Well thought I would throw my current Sunday driver in this thread...1964 Vauxhall Victor Super Sedan, 68000 Original Miles, have the full car history from original sales receipt, serice records etc etc...was re-sprayed in 1995 and now she rests in my hands.
