Title: fc steering knuckle and support dimensions
Post by: rodliz on December 13, 2009, 07:05:41 AM
Hi! I am having some trouble with too much pos. caster on my wheel alignment*can't be adjusted within tolerance**Have re-rubbered the crossmember and checked the steering supports are on the correct side. Car wanders and is thrown off line by 'pot holes'-Every thing else in the front end appears tight.--Thinking maybe 'bent' steering knuckle/support.
Regards Rod

Have you checked that the steering knuckle / king pin assemblies have not been swapped over by mistake?

Have you got the steel spacer tubes in the crossmember mountings installed correctly? If the spacers are wrong it will upset the caster settings.

Have set up the crossmember as per workshop manual and torqued the bolts up,I have checked the knuckle support against another FC that drives well and the king pin to support relationship appears the same?
