just wondering if is possible to replace the grey motor sump gasket in my fc without pulling the motor out it looks like there is a fare bit of room if i lowered the steering arms but any other ideas would be great thanks Phil Title: Re: grey motor sump gasket replacement Post by: Maco on October 26, 2009, 09:09:48 PM I would remove the engine to do this myself, it would take about 2 hours to have it out and mounted on an engine stand.
Just my opinion. Check that you don't over stress rear mounts, radiator hoses ,fuel lines ,exhaust etc. The sump will slide out towards the diff. Remember to drain the oil beforehand ;D. I had an FC that constantly threw the #5 big end and this was the easiest way to replace the bearing.
