Good buy Brad, $3,500 sounds like a lot but it's well worth it to get a rust free car, I didn't think there were any left, plus you got a few hundred dollars worth of accessories under the bonnet.

True Pedro.
It really is super straight and virtually rust free.
Rear r/h door has some minor bubbles lurking, yframes good a little near inner sill but easy repair.
Im quite happy with her.
Cheers

Just need to get rid of my ol 73 Inter D1310 truck that is taking up all the room.
First thing is brakes then front seat( just to get her driving) then ill whack a permit on her and go get some paint quotes.

This is the only ding in the entire car
(http://i49.tinypic.com/2cghlrt.jpg)(http://)
This the only rust that ive found so far usual for the FE FC tho.
Floor pans are quite good really this is with kill rust primer b4 covering with black underbody tar.
obviously this is under the hole in the floor typical FCsubframe rust my plan is to cut it out and weld in a new section your right Hamfist its not rust free but its still one of the better ones IMO
(http://i50.tinypic.com/seq1rl.jpg)(http://)
Had a look at brakes also and as you would expect for a vehicle thats been sitting since 1982
they are seized
(http://i47.tinypic.com/2zp6udx.jpg)(http://)
Shes pretty straight
(http://i47.tinypic.com/1z6tefk.jpg)
that little ding on the right rear door is the only one other that very straight indeed

My short term plan is to fit second hand seats and do the brakes and put a permit on her to take it to the OLD SKOOL show in Adelaide here next month b4 i totally pull her down for resto.
Think i got this pic thing sorted now
cheers
Brad

G'day Brad, that's the sort of car most of us dream of finding, not only is it almost rust free but straight as well, good score there. 8) 8)

Cheers for the comments guys, its certainly a good base for a resto.
Not sure how far i want to go with it yet.
I may just take all glass out and hanging panels off and go for hi gloss black, tidy up engine bay etc,as the engine has been refreshened and tidied up ie. fan and pulleys and gen and starter painted red, block has been painted grey after a re ring kit put thru it.She has twin carbs, extractors and sounds like a mild cam.Otherwise stock.
But as you all know once you start stripping them you cant stop.
Cheers

Well i thought it was time for a little update.
Was out in the shed today and pulled all the brakes apart/off of the black std.
Havent posted updates as i havent done anything on her till today(too bloody busy working) :'(
Anyway i didnt take pics as we all know what dirty drum brakes look like.
Taking them to get all 4 drums machined,4 new wheel cylinders, new shoes all round, two new flexi brake lines and a new master cylinder.
20yrs sitting in a shed will do that to a car! ::)
Whilst i was in the shed i fired up the ol twin strommied Grey and man she sounds sweet.
Once brakes are done ill put a permit on her and get some paint quotes.
Cant wait to take her for a spin!
Got a front bench seat off of Stapla (Peter on here)
Will post some pics off the new brakes when there back on.
Cheers
Brad

Well ive shutzed the floor inside the FC and fitted my new brakes and master cyl.
However ive discovered that i need a new handbrake cable and all new brake lines.
All i wanted to do was drive the darn thing on a permit for 3 days before i stripped her.
I may end up just taking her apart ready for paint removal and worry about brakes when im putting the rest of her back together. Ill post pics of the dismantling progress soon
Gee sometimes i do things back to front i tell ya ::)
