Title: Extension Housing Leak Post by: utey on January 20, 2009, 04:19:51 PM A lot of oil leaks from the rear seal I put a new seal in but still leaking.
The yoke is badly scored could this be the reason? Has the brass bush got anything to do with sealing? Should I look for another yoke. Sleeve the existing one (possible?) Build up and machine existing? Does the Rare Spares gasket kit have all the gaskets required? If the yoke is scored it will be nearly impossible to seal, try for another ext housing with a good bush in it and another yoke. This would be the cheaper way to go. If you are really fussy, you could try and find a NOS bush or have one made. You would also need to have the yoke built up and machined down to suit. This would guarantee no leaking and the absolute best way to do it, but wouldn't be cheap. Just a thin metal tube. Check out some engineering suppliers.
