Title: hq stub axles
Post by: waynos on November 04, 2008, 09:30:52 PM
i thought hq stubs were meant to give a 1 inch drop compared to hr stubs?
it seems about to me 5/8 of an inch(i'm only guessing  though after crawling under said cars with a ruler)

It is somewhat less than an inch - You may be right with the measurement, although I thought it was a little more than that.

from bottom end to centre of stub  it seemed to be roughly 45 ish mm for the hr
and about 60mm for the hq
will rip my wheel off this weekend and measure my hr one

Guys

Ken is right  :) its about 19 to 20mm.  The steering arm location is also moved the same amount.

I found the Tech article on this and the HK to WB are all the same and work out 16.62mm lower than the HR  your measurements were right waynos........FC427.......

fc 427,
thanks heaps as always,
i was out by .8 of a mill.
i'm pretty good at guessing anything under 2 inches usually, was hoping i was wrong.
its great to clear these approximations up.
