Title: sticky throttle
Post by: Paul In Ireland on October 12, 2008, 07:20:31 AM
Just the last couple of times I have gone for a drive I find the throttle sticking at higher revs. I give it a tap on the side of the pedal and that frees it up. I am thinking that it is a friction thing in the sleeve? Can you lube the cable or is it a case of just replace it all together?

A squirt of WD40, CRC or whatever they have over there should sort it out.
Either that or pull it all apart and get some light(sewing machine) oil on the cable and re-insert into the sleeve.

Paul also check your engine mounts I did a FC a few months back that had a sticky gas pedal and the engine mounts were broken and the engine had moved loading the accelerator linkage just a thought ......FC427.....
