The metal cap does come out and get lost but I don't consider they're that rare - I just sold one to KIWI in NZ for $20.

Ken - you may have "missed" nearly 10 times that if that auction is to be believed.

I am a little suspicious - first the hubcaps and now the knob.... ::) ???
