Title: FE Ute on Ebay Post by: cruiser056 on July 29, 2008, 05:33:50 PM Hi All!
I have looked at the FE Ute which is currently on Ebay! Sorry I don't know how to add the link. It is the one in Caboolture Shire. Well if you like rust, and big holes where rust used to be, then this is for you!! I don't know if the people bidding on it are Forum user, but if so then beware!! It requires some major body work, but I personally think it was not worth taking off the farm where they found it. If anyone wants a more detailed description then feel free to ask. Title: Re: FE Ute on Ebay Post by: mikey on July 31, 2008, 05:12:12 AM Have a look at the ID tag, that looks like some of the worst number stamping I have seen in my life. All over the place seems like the person doing it had a bit too much to drink the night before ???
The 2 tags I have are all neat and even and look like they have been done through a jig or some sort of stamping machine. Was it normal for some random tags to be done by hand? Did the tags on the ute line line get done manually or possibly the stamping machine broke down? Not really important, just wondering. :) Cheers M Title: Re: FE Ute on Ebay Post by: Johns on July 31, 2008, 07:54:28 AM Mikey, that's pretty typical for an early Sydney built car, the stamping of contemporary Melbourne cars is much neater. That AS code is unique to Sydney also.
