Title: FC Special Possible the best in OZ Post by: FC0058 on July 03, 2008, 08:52:54 PM Ebay Item #220252955769

That's a little contradictory isn't it? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Kathi 8) F4+ =^^= Title: Re: FC Special Possible the best in OZ Post by: DN2168 on July 03, 2008, 09:35:57 PM Is that a 100% wiper switch?

Title: Re: FC Special Possible the best in OZ Post by: mcl1959 on July 03, 2008, 09:59:53 PM If you do see the car - I would be interested in the ID plate details as the green colour is certainly not a standard colour. If it has been faithfully copied from the original, then the codes might be something I have not seen before.
On the other hand it may just be an unoriginal paint job. I agree that is a brave statement. Maybe he hasn't seen to many FC's in his travels and his is the best of what he has seen. Ken Title: Re: FC Special Possible the best in OZ Post by: TTV6FC on July 03, 2008, 10:01:27 PM And what about the condition of the dash surround? If you are going to try to convince people that it is the best in Oz,you probably need to have more than five photos (four of which are of the same side of the car) especially for those who can't pop in for a look....From the photos,it certainly is a nice looking car,but the best in Oz....Hmmm ???
Title: Re: FC Special Possible the best in OZ Post by: Paul In Ireland on July 04, 2008, 12:02:29 AM I have seen the pictures of the car with the wedding ribbons on it before - possibly on this forum. Does it ring any bells for anyone else?
Just remember that he is only marketing an item for sale and not saying that it actually is the best FC. Besides, I have possibly the best FC in the rest of the world over here in my garage!! ;D ;) Paul 8) Title: Re: FC Special Possible the best in OZ Post by: FC0058 on July 04, 2008, 07:58:50 AM Paul
If you ever get the FE off your Dad you will aso have the best FE in the rest of the world. hehehe. Title: Re: FC Special Possible the best in OZ Post by: Johns on July 04, 2008, 08:50:25 AM Picking up Ken's comment, from my (limited) knowledge of two tone FCs the top colour on the interior of the doors generally reflects the top (flash) colour of the outside, which is not the case here. Dash top looks green too.
Fairly big call, I think. Cheers John Title: Re: FC Special Possible the best in OZ Post by: FC427 on July 04, 2008, 10:10:37 AM WHATS NEXT IS HE GOING TO BE "STONED TO DEATH" FOR SAYING HE HAS POSSIBLY THE BEST FC IN AUSTRALIA.....WHY SO NEGITIVE ??????.....FC427.......

Title: Re: FC Special Possible the best in OZ Post by: mcl1959 on July 04, 2008, 03:52:11 PM Its like going to the races saying "I've got possibly the fastest car here!" You think people are going to stand around saying "Yeah he's probably right, why don't we all go home now?"
Of course they're not, people are gonna want a race because they don't believe him. I for one am a very competitive person, if you say you've got possibly the best FC in Australia, then it better be bloody good. :o Now I know there are people here who think car shows are a waste of time and they wouldn't attend one, That's one side of the story and a valid place to stand. But I love shows, and I like to win. This is also a valid place to stand. So if you think we are harsh judging this guy then that's OK, I just see it as an invitation to compare when a claim is made which on the surface seems to be a bit rich. Ken Title: Re: FC Special Possible the best in OZ Post by: Ed on July 04, 2008, 04:04:58 PM I think it represents an ideal base to be modified.
253 / traumatic... would be beaut! lop off a few coils, would make the best car even better. best bit no rust repairs required. Cheers Ed Title: Re: FC Special Possible the best in OZ Post by: Spinner on July 04, 2008, 04:09:46 PM Then go for it, Ed. The colour's not too bad either.
Title: Re: FC Special Possible the best in OZ Post by: Ed on July 04, 2008, 04:21:56 PM Then go for it, Ed. The colour's not too bad either. not just yet :-\ all in good time :) Title: Re: FC Special Possible the best in OZ Post by: TTV6FC on July 04, 2008, 07:09:27 PM Hey Paul,I have photos of this car on my computer from months ago when it was for sale on Ebay the first time and also had the ribbons on it.FC 427,you could say we are all being negative but I think the difference is that we (forum members) are comparing this car to some of the stunning cars that we have all seen either at shows or the nats or those owned by members of this forum whereas this particular seller is comparing his car to probably not much else. When I look at the five photos of this FC and compare it to probably at least 30 or more cars I saw at the nats this year,I cringe at the thought that this is possibly the best in oz.All just a matter of opinion and I think this is what the replies to this post are.Cheers,Jamie.

WRONG WRONG WRONG I have the best FC in Australia Well to me it is................... ;D ;D ;D ;D Title: Re: FC Special Possible the best in OZ Post by: FC427 on July 06, 2008, 08:08:58 PM Well Took a look at this car today with a price tag on the window of $17,000 sorry Ken no numbers the car was locked up and no sign of the owner all day ...... this car would be lucky to rate a 6 out of 10 and that is being generous ill fitting panels, poor repairs, average paint, poor chrome, floors replaced, interior say so, nothing special and at $17,000 more than $10,000 over priced in "MY'' VIEW now you can crucify him for his statement ..Add should have read Average FC still goes and is registered ........FC427.......
Title: Re: FC Special Possible the best in OZ Post by: mcl1959 on July 06, 2008, 09:20:01 PM Thanks FC 427, The guy sounds like the original ebay optimist - pump something up for sale, put a hefty price on it and hope you get a bunny. It has worked in the past and will work in the future. You've got to feel sorry for the buyer though :P
Ken Title: Re: FC Special Possible the best in OZ Post by: customFC on July 07, 2008, 06:05:39 PM I got to see this car also and Mark's assessment of the car is fairly spot on.
I forgot you wanted the ##'s Ken....sorry! However based on the fact that the owner/painter did not even reproduce the paint style (early 58 style when the car originally would have had late 58 style) including painting the flash colour below the boot, I doubt they faithfully reproduced the colour. The painter was heavy handed with the gun, with extra parts copping a coat of paint and big runs under the bonnet. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v608/customfc2/Holden/FC1Drags.jpg) Good luck to the seller finding a buyer, but I doubt it will be someone from the forum. Regards Alex Title: Re: FC Special Possible the best in OZ Post by: customFC on July 07, 2008, 06:07:39 PM including painting the flash colour below the boot Ooops, that should be body colour below the boot. Regards Alex Title: Re: FC Special Possible the best in OZ Post by: mcl1959 on July 07, 2008, 06:55:37 PM I agree the colour may not be original, but I am still interested if anyone else gets a look at it. There were a very few FC's painted in a trial run of FB colours and India Ivory and Ice Green was one of the combinations. The colour on this car looks close to Ice Green so it just maybe one of the cars I would love to find.
I have located so far an India Ivory and Cape Ivory FC which was a prototype for the Yellow and White FB. So I know they do exist. Regards Ken Title: Re: FC Special Possible the best in OZ Post by: FC427 on July 07, 2008, 08:35:39 PM I use to have an ICE GREEN FC 30 years ago will look for a photo .......FC427.......
Title: Re: FC Special Possible the best in OZ Post by: cajerridoc on July 08, 2008, 07:39:46 AM We all know it is not the best in Oz and as they said "possibly" they cannot be sent to the gallows for that, but to say "ABSOLUTLY IMMACULATE" and show a car with a missing kick panel and what looks like a hole in the dash surround, well that simply isn't Cricket!
