Hi Rod67 The chassis kit does not bolt in to the spring hanger rather it is welded to it ......FC427......

Hello Rod.
Go to the top of the page and in the search option type in  "chassis kit" I'm sure you will find lots of interesting info. You might also try "hadfield " spelling might be wrong ? Or try "Castlemain rod shop"
as they do a conversion as well.
                         Brad.

Hi Rod,

here's a scan from an old Street Machine mag which shows where to weld.

the front end will look a bit like this, hooking over the x-member (ignore the bits to the right of the cross member...this is just the mounting for the rotisserie)

note in this picture at the back the 'join' has been boxed in...this isn't necessary though.....I just wanted it to look less agricultural.

looking down the length of the car, should be something like this:

Hi guys.

Is this the same kit that is used when making a convertible? It doesn't look like it would be strong enough but when I ask around people keep telling me to put a chassis kit in. Would there be a bigger stronger version for choppin the top off?

There is no kit so to speak for a convertible. Your engineer and you will become best of friends as he tells you exactly what he requires in order for him to give you compliance.
