Title: Goddards racer
Post by: pedro on April 14, 2008, 11:39:34 AM
Not quite sure which category these pics belong in, this car belongs to my neighbor Greg Goddard it's powered by a hot grey engine ( apparently not much of the internals are grey anymore ) Greg hand built the car years ago and he and his son Darren still take it to vintage race days and give it a run, Darren reckons he can still blow the doors off a lot of the more modern cars, check out the hand made extractors 8)

Yeah you'd think there would be a bit of a lag/flat spot but i've heard it run and it sounds sweet, the reason i was drawing attention to the extractors is they are hand made, he did the bends by filling them with sand and heating them with an oxy torch, nothing was done with a pipe bender,if any of you have tried it you will know it's not an easy job to get the curves perfect like that 8).

Cool piece of machinery.
Good to hear that it can put newer cars behind it.....shows that it was put together right.
Thanks for sharing and thank Greg also.

Alex
