Title: engine number Post by: FC_fer_me on January 31, 2008, 06:16:54 PM I know it's probably been covered before,( I did a search but came up empty handed), but could someone explain the prefixes on the grey motor engine numbers. I know the FC ones start with L but the engine in my new project car is numbered B285240. Just curious as to which model this engine is from.Thanks in advance, Dave.

FE and FC have L prefix FJ utes and vans made after the release of the FE have U prefix (these are rare to find) FB and EK have B prefix EJ has J prefix Ken |
