Title: Fitzpatrick FC
Post by: FCwagon on December 19, 2007, 11:20:27 AM
Hi all, I've been looking around for a friend (who wants to build a custom) for pictures and articles on the Fitzpatrick (Fitzy's) custom FC but can't find any  :-\. Does anyone have photos they can email me or even a website address please.
Thanks, Leigh

I drove behind him on the cruise at the Canberra nats - and all the time I'm thinking "I'm dead if my brakes fail now" Thankfully they didn't, and we had a great chat about his car.

This car's been in Street Machine a couple times (in both guises)... if I have time over the next few days I'll see if I can find the issues for you.

Fitzy is changing the car again, now has full hotrod style running gear under it, hq subframe has gone and is now installed in a V8 FC ute.

what in the hell is hot rod running gear ???
small block auto 9" is pretty much run of the mill hot rod running gear
i think what you may meen is he's putting it on a full custom made chassis which is still not hot rod
unless he's putting it on a '32 chassis with a sidey ;D

How does the bonnet shut with no latch?

There are pins on either side of the guard lips. You can see the holes in the bonnet sides where they locate.

Cheers

There are 2 solenoid activated pins which come out from the guard edge and locate into the side of the bonnet.  This FC is one classy car with engineering tricks everywhere. Note that the front bonnet catch panel is also welded to the grille shell so there is not even a join showing between the grill and the panel.

Love It   Ken

No wonder he won 5 times.

Makes me want to reverse my colours too. Actually there is one for sale like that right now.
