Title: Mascot Airport Ute 1959
Post by: customFC on September 14, 2007, 04:00:47 PM
Came across this awesome photo today of a Pan American Boeing 707 jet airliner Jet Clipper Flying Eagle at Mascot Airport.
Check out the ute in the foreground!!!
Checker roof and a large speaker on the rear.
I guess it was used to chase down any passengers that strayed onto the runway.
They must have painted the checkers so that the planes would notice it.

Nice pic Alex, would be good in colour, I recall a pic placed on here from a member, of a yellow FE Std Wagon that was on airport duty (http://civ av DSC03575a) (link may not work)

Possibly the speaker was on the ute to scare off birds & rabbits
