Thanks for the pics Les.

Judging by the number plate that's a very late FC Ute but it doesn't appear to have yellow blinkers(?)

Did FC Standards change to yellow blinkers when the Specials did or retain them in the tailights?

Over to the (other) trainspotters ;D

It wasn't that the utes didn't change the blinker set-up in sync with the sedans, but as Fast Eddie, suggested, they didn't have blinkers to start with.

Standards, Business, Utes and Vans all had a different blanking piece under the steering wheel instead of the regular cast blinker stalk housing we're more familiar with. Many FE/FC utes and vans have had these retro-fitted.

I couldn't say with conviction what the story with FB/EK utes is, although I have an idea blinkers were fitted across the entire range, and FE/FC are the only series where there was a mixture of with/without blinkers.

I would also say that being commercials that they would not even had a option of blinkers orange or clear unless retro fitted. All commercials throughout the FE FC period would have had rear semaphore blinkers.

This is the wrong Brett.

Some FB & EK commercial models did not have blinkers either.  The dashboards had blanking pieces to cover where the boomerang shaped indicator 'tell tales' would otherwise be fitted.

I'd say that Brett was talking about right arm mk1. ;)

The subtle difference is that the FC has the front parking lights in the blinker body, which is integral to the grille design. So externally standards/specials look exactly the same in this regard, unlike the standard FE models that don't have front blinker bodies at all. (All FEs have parkers in the headlights).
