Title: Insurance in brisbane for 19yo FC driver?
Post by: oldgmh on June 06, 2007, 02:14:42 AM
Can anyone give me information on which company/s will insure a 19 year old male driver in an FC or any similar early holden?

AAMI don't insure pre 1970 cars,
Shannons don't insure under 25year olds.

TPPD or comprehensive.

????   ??? ??? ::) ::)

thanks.

GIO Classic and veteran do a good deal for me and my modified.

its actually significantly cheaper for me to insure and register (in NSW)  a v8 FE wagon with heaps of mods than a motorcycle.

and I get to keep the wreck if the unthinkable happens!

not sure about the age thing tho.

Cheers

Ed

In 1995 I insured my FB with Suncorp   >:(.
The premium was $103.00 per year full comprehensive. Age excess was  16-19 yrs $700 , 20 21 yrs $500. Agreed value of $5000.oo . The low premium was because of the age of the car and it was garaged OFF STREET.

  ps I HATE Suncorp  >:(.

Earlee,

Vigil have looked after me since I insured my modified FC with them when I was 16. I'm now 22, still with them and happy with their services. No other insurance company was interested in covering me.

The car has full comprehensive insurance, and costs about $24 a month direct debit, or slightly less with an upfront payment. That being said, my FC is on restricted registration, is a secondary car (driven irregularly, a maximum of 52 times per year) and stored in a secure location off-street. They also offer a breakdown service.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Ol Girl 58
