G"day all,
Has anyone fitted a twin exhaust system to a red six? and if so how does it sound? was thinking about a twin system with hot dogs?(legal or not?)

Twin system on a red = a 3 cylinder in stereo.
Was never my favorite sound.
The sound of a throaty single system leaves it for dead.
My opinion only of course!

Ghost Who Walks,
Twin systems are good but you will always get better sound and quality out of a single system.

I had a twin system on my HX sedan 202 Auto many years ago.
It had a 2 1/2 inch V8 twin system from the rear mufflers back and a custom made pipe from the standard exhaust manifold to the mufflers.
The mufflers were straight flow through type.
It sounded like a V8, but i didn't drive it hard.
Those that didn't know the car thought i had a V8.
The only drawback was that one muffler would always need replacing before the other.
I would go for a 2 1/2  inch single system if i had to do it again.

I have a single 2 and a 1/4 with a high flow muffler now, it sounds great at idle but not throaty when accelerating.

i had single splitting to two infront of the diff, it sounded like a v8 at idle but had a higher note as the revs got up.
i think you can kind off hear it in the video i have a link to below.

Your really getting into personal opinion with a question like that! And mine is that sixes were never meant to wear a twin system.I've heard a few that sounded pretty good, but most just sound like someone's up the front farting into the extractors! And in my experience "hot dog" mufflers wont do anything to take the rappy -crackle out of it.
One of the nicest sounding sixes was my mates EH ute, pretty heavily worked 208 with tuned length straws,2 1/2" system,super-turbo muffler. Music at the front end was provided by triple webers with ram-tubes.
Sounded pretty nasty from the front & back!   Daz.

no,
quad pipes are for v8's and twins are for sixes, that is how the mercedes benz AMG engineers do it, check the rear of all the new AMG models.
on the other hand 4 cylinder POS like pintara, magna, etcetc should have 1.
