Title: Door gaps
Post by: fccool59 on February 18, 2007, 09:20:52 AM
what is the usual gap between the front door in the area the stainless mould ends (FC) and the door meets up with the cowl panel and top of the gaurd?
my door seems to be a tight fit
Also while i am at it what is the usual gap between the b pillar and the door?
mine touches the b pillar with about 4mm gap at the front of the door.

The door is usually very close to the A pillar where the chrome stripe goes through, but wider in other areas.  It can be as close as 2 or 3 mm there, but 4 or 5 mm in other places between the guard and the door and the windscreen pillar and the door.  The gap down the B pillar should be consistent  over 4 or 5 mm

in that case, to get 4-5 mm at the b pillar i think i might need to hire a porta power and push the a pillar a few mm forward at the bottom of the windscreen and file a little more of the door edges and drill out the hinge holes a little more.
