Title: Speedo Cable
Post by: cruiser056 on January 14, 2007, 08:43:16 PM
Hi All,
My FE sedan is running a 186 and Celica 5 speed and I need a new speedo cable.  Now I have been told that you can buy a inner cable kit where you cut to length and crimp the ends on.
The same guy has told me that the ends on the cable, both for speedo head and for the box are the same on all cars, no matter what make, model or age.
I didn't think this was correct and was seeking guidance from some of the gurus here.
Also, if I may, if this is not correct, where can I purchase such a cable?

Thanks

Michael

Michael, your instincts are quite correct.  I assume you have either a CRS or Dellow adaptor kit?  I know that CRS has replacement speedo cables or a company called "Autocables" will make you a cable with the ends and length you specify

Ken,
Thanks for that!  I didn't think they were all the same.  I'll check out both CRS and Autocables.

Thanks again

Michael
