I'm thinking u r right Geoff.
It didn't have the ribbing of my Fc seat, it was a flat pattern and silver/grey certainly describes the second colour.
I think we've solved it

For Sale and Wanted / Parts For Sale / Ute Seat
|

Hey Guys, I drove 3 hours from my home on the Gold Coast into the deep north of NSW today to look at (among other things) a front seat for my Station Sedan.
Turns out to be a UTE seat!! No back panel of vinyl. Interestingly though it has never been in a car as far as I can tell. The guy says its new and has been sitting in his shed out in the bush for millenia.
I'm not familiar with the Ute seat, but it seems to have a clear plastic covering which is sewn in at production. The only problem with the seat is that this plastic has gone quite opaque. Underneath, the seat is two tone grey and red. Mainly red, and the grey may have been a cream initially. Otherwise very nice.
He was asking $150.00 but would probably go for $100.00. I'm not sure if this is a good deal, but I have been thinking since I left it sitting on his driveway that someone on this forum may really want an item like this.
Let me know any Uties if you want more deatils.

I wanna get this off on the right foot this time Harko coz I gotta tell ya, my 15 year old daughter (Sarah_FC, member #450) would love this in her bedroom!! She's hassling me to get it for her, but I'm restoring a Station Sedan that is taking all the spare cash.
It is a beautiful piece of engineering and I hope u get a great price on ebay.
I only wish I had the ability to produce something like this. Keep up the great work.

Does anyone know if there is someone on the Gold Coast doing the triple plateing? I have heard that there is a crew doing really good work here but I can't track them down.
If not, anyone recommend someone on the South side of Brizzy?
I have heard that there are some dodgy operations and I would prefer to swerve those!

Hey Stinky,
I didn't realise when I asked the question that these were so hard to get. I have patched mine and it'll be ok for a while so I was looking for a sparie to be prepared for that day. I thought I'd get one for about $50.00 but I have heard that I will pay more like $200.00 for an ok one. Having said that, Ace has one for $120.00. I have asked about the condition with no reply as yet. I guess its like anything, if I was desparate, I'd pay a lot more. So, if someone really needs one who knows? Maybe you could even swap it for a genuine Nasco clock!!! Matt

Craig,
I think the use of the little knob is still classified information by the Department of Defence.
Suffice to say it had something to do with the launch of Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles with nuclear capabilities.

I had a badly damaged blue one on my November 59 wagon. I'm pretty sure it would have been the orig. I replaced it with a nice gold one I got from Slim.
I'd like to get a Blue one if in fact that is the original.
anyone?

Hi All, Just picked up my FC Special Wagon resto project. Have sent online app to the QLD club.
The beast has been in a shed for 10 years and I was looking to get a full rubber replacement kit. I checked rare spares and the cost gave me a shock!
Can someone help me with the best source of rubber for the old girl.
Thanks
