I don't go much on grey myself
but it's news to me that a respray and "Classic" status are somehow mutually exclusive. What gives you that idea?
You can argue about originality versus restoration until the cows come home, but a classic is a classic is a classic.

In the same magazine that Wayne's car appeared there were other cars that had been repainted.
Do you think a Model T is a classic car? I sure do, but how long since you've seen one with original paint?
Wayne's car is an excellent example of a car that has been respectfully maintained. It was actually repainted because someone threw brake fluid over it, long before Wayne owned it. He has added a couple of very minor rust and dent repairs, but otherwise it represents a good original example of this CLASSIC Holden model.
He really is the second owner, and yes the last owner WAS an old lady who only drove it locally.
