Makes me laugh the first week i had my P plates it was the other way around some old duck in a stock 1300 VW smoked me of the lights i know it would have been slow motion.
My mates still give me stick to this day.

From what i can find .25 to .30 cents a gallon

In my old FE log book it shows I was paying 4 shillings 3 pence in 1960 for 1 gallon of petrol.
Another entry shows January 1961 I paid 3 shillings 11 1/2 pence per gallon at Burleigh Heads.

just shows you mal
petrol was going up & down even then..
best part no g.s.t back then... ;D
