Fuel Issue

Fitted a non vacum fuel pump today and it works well but Ive developed a problem, At idle the engine stalls and petrol runs out of the shaft area of the carby. Ive checked the needle and seat, all good. Checked the float level, all good. Anyone got any ideas?
Regards Rod.

Has the carby been rebuilt? It sounds like it has a fuel leak somewhere.

No the same carby thats been on it since I got it. Could then new pump be higher pressure? Just seems like too much fuel. Ill recheck the float level. Failing that Ill try another carby. Seems too much of a coincidence its only happened since I put a different fuel pump on.
Regards

Yes I agree, it does sound like too much of a coincidence, maybe fuel delivery pressure is too much for the original grey carb

Adjusted the float level quite savagely and that appears to have done the trick.
Thanks everyone for the input.
Rod.
