Gents ..In assisting a friend with a FJ, he asks how do you remove the brake tube splitter block mounted on diff housing just inboard from the rear drivers side brakes , one steel line either side to both rear brake cylinders ,one inlet via a hose from tube to M/C going into it ..its a rectangular brass block with a stub on rear side thru a small metal plate ...THX Vern ..

If it's anything like later Holdens, the brass splitter block is mounted to the small metal plate with a u-shaped clip. Use a drift to gently tap the clip off, then the brass block should come out of the small metal plate.
Cheers,

Further to that the clip actually fixes the end of the flexible hose in the bracket and the block is then located simply by the fact it is connected to the end of the hose. That is the case from at least FC at least.

Gents ..Apparently the clip location as Harv described was buried under 66 years of crud ,

How unusual, not. At least half the work in restoration is removing sixty or seventy years of dirt, oil, paint etc.

That’s not crud, it’s genuine NASCO sound deadener and corrosion enhancer.
