101  Galleries / Project Cars - FEs and FCs Under Construction / Re: FE SPECIAL on: October 14, 2016, 09:33:16 PM
Welcome to the wonderful world of FE/FC Holdens .
The engine # L419082 was produced in very late January 1958.
The #B engine is as you describe an FB engine.
If you find the Vehicle Serial number which should be on the upper passenger fender skirt above the battery.(might be on the drivers side)
This number along with the body ID plate details that you have already supplied should be enough for the Guru's (Ken) to date it accurately.
Good luck with the build and keep asking questions and posting progress pictures. (We all like looking at pictures)  Grin

Hi crowbar,
just looking through the parts manual, Rares have not called these by there original part number so I suspect that they are not quite exactly the same as the original.

The original part number is #4562113

The next pictures show where those type of clips are used.

I know this doesn't solve your problem, I hope that rares would appreciate the feedback to get them so they are fit for purpose.

105  For Sale and Wanted / Parts Wanted / Re: van project on: August 23, 2016, 10:00:58 PM
I bought my FE wagon side venetians from them about 4 years ago. Picked them up from the factory at black forest. Since then they have moved to a more modern factory at Plympton.
They even have them for FB EK van rear. Thanks for posting stinky.  Huh Cheesy Easy to get us mixed up.

FE/FC sedans and wagons # LH 7411557 #RH 7411558

FB/EK sedans and wagons # LH 7412789  #RH 7412790

FE/FC, FB/EK utes and vans  #LH 7411769  #RH 7411768

So would depend how different they were if they could be modified or not.

I have a set of John's wonderful reproductions here in Adelaide if you want to check them for yourself first.

My father in law was in sapol for 35 years and is in the historical society, will ask him about a black FC sedan. He started with the humpys so it was his era.

Hi, Welcome to the forum.
Have you checked for the chassis number on both sides of the engine bay?
My Adelaide built 57 FE station sedan chassis number should be on the upper left hand fender skirt.
But it is on the right hand fender skirt.

I know that they all have the same part number, but I remember talking to an older panel beater who said that they were handed as front right was the same as rear left as in they were diagonally opposite. When you look at them from front on the left one is slightly shorter on the left hand side as the bar joins and is double thickness on the left and single thickness bar on the right.
I thought it might be a bit "over the top" being only the extra thickness of the bar on the outer side (maybe 3mm at the most).
I have never really measured them that accurately to see if he was right or not!
