Hi All
Just an update after a lot of hassles and things going wrong which happens to the best of us from time to time the old girl is finally registered. She passed her Rego inspection with flying colours yesterday morning. Since I have been driving around the amount of people coming up to have a chat about her or giving me the thumbs up is unreal  Grin I just can't wipe the grin off my face.
                                                                                                                                                      Cheers Tommo
4  For Sale and Wanted / Cars For Sale / Re: FC Special Sedan on: September 20, 2007, 10:06:27 PM
G'day Ben
If only it was closer to home. I just got a quote to transport a car from Mt Gambier SA to The Alice NT $1500. From Tas to here would probably be your asking price Sad.

No Worries Jim
I received an email from the seller tonight it looks like more rare stuff will be listed soon.I am in limbo until I get the FC regod anyway! just waiting on a speedo cable to arrive.

Cheers Tommo
6  For Sale and Wanted / Auction and Trade Links / Re: Lanspeed gear on ebay on: September 20, 2007, 07:40:57 PM
Sorry Jim
Scored the carbys Grin I was too slow on the headers Sad I normally let things like that go as soon as the bids go ballistic but not this time I was pretty close to my limit though. I like Mike wondered who Bidder one is thinking it was someone who was really loaded and liked old cars until my other half pointed out otherwise.
The same seller told me he is putting a set of "Jack Myers" headers on there this week so good luck [I am not chasing them].

7  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: EH gear box on: September 04, 2007, 06:57:30 PM
Colin That's affirmative we would not miss the big "50" for our old girl.I was thinking the same thing no problems with bringing it down.
I will get some photo's but like I said it will take a while the bloke is doing a kitchen reno and his sheds full of stuff. It's just a pity there are no Fe/fc bits Sad

Cheers Tommo
8  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: EH gear box on: September 04, 2007, 07:02:33 AM
Thanks Folks
Looks like I will grab the Box he is also throwing in some FJ parts as well I don't have any plans to own either an EH or FJ any time soon. So I will check the parts out and will probably list them on here if anyone,s interested  I am really only after the grey heads as they are like hens teeth up here.it may take a while though.
Colin yep no worries I have not laid eyes on it yet will let you know it's condition.

Cheers Tommo
9  Technical Board / Modification Help / EH gear box on: August 31, 2007, 07:20:25 AM
Hi All
I asked this on another part of the forum but it is probably better here.
A bloke at work is offering me "free" EH stuff including a gearbox three speed I think. Before I lug it home would it be any good to me for bits or a replacement if mine blew up [our FC is stock]. I am actually after the two complete grey heads he has but are there any interchangeable EH to FC parts? I think I know the answer but it never hurts to ask.

Sounds like a really good purchase there. I hope you have a friend in the Freight industry it cost me $1800 Shocked to get a car from northern NSW to The Alice.

Hey Mark
Good to see the EK I have a soft spot for them it's the first car I remember my Dad owning he bought it of a Dentist in Parkes in 1972 it was white with turquoise roof we travelled all over NSW in it and he used to let me sit up with him and "drive" it.If he had done that these day's he would get a hefty fine and be considered a bad parent Roll Eyes.Aaah those where the days.

Cheers Tommo

Thanks Folks
That has been some response there are a few things that people have brought up that I will have to rectify before I hit the road like maybe getting rid of the crossplys and and a cd/mp3 player in the glove box with hidden speakers etc..etc.
She is original running gear except for extractors and exhaust so it won't be a fast trip work it's a 50k round trip and the road is OK not a whole lot of traffic either so as soon as my truck is sold, off go the club plates.
I also might have another fc Special sedan soon. I spotted a Darkblue/white sedan in local Brake/clutch place so chucked a yuee Huh Tongue and made inquiries the owner is doing it up Aussie 4 speed and red motor its about 50% finished BUT he has another which he has taken all the chrome off for the project. Its all there [minus the chrome of course] 3speed/grey interior is OK front floors rusted out he paid a grand for it so I am hoping to get it for a bit less might be a good sleeper project one day. One more question would a EH gear box be any good to me the price is right it's "free" with a couple of complete grey heads and assorted EH stuff from a bloke at work he sold his EH years ago and just wants rid of the bits and pieces.

Cheers Tommo

Thanks for the reply Jim. Hmmm I did not think of parking location work no probs home well a kill switch might be enough suppose I could look at other measures there.
Our car is on club plates hence it does not get driven as much as I like [and when I do I always get a thumbs up or a wave from someone] club rego here is $80 a year normal rego $500 which I am quite happy to pay[kinda Tongue sorta] too many projects brings me to this point and of course the FC won't be the one to go.Anyone else got a view on this?Huh? feel free.

Hi Folks
I am thinking of using our FC sedan as a daily driver for a while instead of having it sit in a shed and only driven now and again.
I guess I am after the pros and cons of doing this and I figure this is the best place to ask Grin.By a "while" I mean from the next month up to the Nats {maybe Undecided}.

Cheers Tommo

I know this is getting off topic but being a Mopar man from way back I just have to ask why you stripped the Charger from the first photo it looks quite good, any chance of seeing it at Mt Gambier Grin
