Just checked the latest Street machine Magazine. There's a pic of a LHD FC Ute on page 9.

Can anyone shed any light on this one  Huh I didn't think Holden made any LHD cars until FB.

Cheers,

Mr G.

This got quite a kicking around after some photos of the car taken at Wintersun were posted here.  Check this thread.

Nice scam, SGO - but it won't work.

This is a picture of a rhd, but the picture has been reversed.  The number plate looks OK because there's nothing on there that reads wrong backwards, but if you have a look at the rear quarter panel, you'll see the word Special is spelt laicepS

Although not quite so clear, you can also see that the word HOLDEN on the bonnet is reversed.

And I've just found the original photo in "Original Advertisements, Brochures" board.

Are you sure, about Canada being rhd, RobbzFC?

Someone beat me to it

I read this in the new street machine too and had just come on to put a post in about it.

You have got to be quick in these parts.

None of the cars I have driven or seen in Canada were RHD. They were all driven on the right hand side of the road tho' so in a sense they are right hand drive. Stretching it a bit though.

Trev,

sorry to make you look like a drongo. You made me think hard about it. I even started to wonder if I had been driving on the wrong side of the road over there. May explain some of the abuse I copped.

What side of the road do you drive on in WA? Manjimup isn't it? I get over that way a couple of times a year so just want to check.

Trev,

must be getting you confused with Blown_FC. He's in Manji isn't he? I didn't realise there was such rivalry between Manjimup and Bridgetown. I must have driven through Bridgetown a few times but have stayed in Manjimup on a few occasions. Not one of the tourist Meccas so it stuck in my mind when mentioned in a post a while back. Maybe I should slow down and take more of a look at Bridgetown next time.

OK - seeing as no one has posted the true answer to the LHD FC at Wintersun - heres the lowdown. My good mate Alan Millard had a little too much time on his hands and thought why not... why not indeed. So Paul Kelly from Smooth Cruzin did the conversion - or part there-of and Alan fitted a 186 and trimatic...
Steering is EH Auto colum  with a flipped shifter  and an upturned rack . The conversion is not supposed to be factory correct - rather just Alans bid to do something different....Why? - to upset punters and purist alike... got to respecta man for that...
Alan kept them guessing all weekend and the Washington numberplates were a nice touch....
Alan is trying to get the car registered - when he gets around to it...and says it drives  well. The engineer has agreed with it and can see no problems - Other than he thinks Alans a stupid boy..... Which is a down grade from the previous assesment of "You bloody idiot..."
CHEERS STREETNEAT.... Cool ...sorry for bursting the bubble Al - but  the suspense was killing me..... Wink

David....your'e right you know.......drive through Bridgetown and Blink, and you'll miss it !   Manjimup however.....well.....how could you miss it ?   It's a mile bigger than Bridgetown, has a Holden dealer, Mitsubishi, Ford, Toyota, 4 Banks, Coles, Woolworths, Target, BP, Shell, Ampol and Gull Fuel Stations and is the gateway to the South West Forests.

Bridgetown, has a Holden dealer, and a Post office and is the Gateway to Manjimup !

Naah, seriously....Manji is the bigger better town, but Bridgetown is definately the more beautiful and more tourist driven....Bridgetown has a River, Hills, and lots of scenery.....

There's a little rivalry between the towns, but more so with Footy teams.   As far as Old Holdens go.....Trev in Bridgetown and Me in Manjimup are as friendly as they come.......which reminds me...Trev......I still have your radio here !

Cheers
