Mine still has the black cardboard type in it, but some parts have dropped .so looks like l will be replacing the lot the worry is will these sound deadeners stick and stay there you can imagine the amount of heat that hits the roof directly on top so hopefully someone has used something that works

John there is a nut bolt on the ratchet arm that you can disconnect ,its there to adjust the downward tension on the air vent cover this will give enough height on the vent to get the seal to remove and reseal

When l had both old and new rubbers side by side the base was larger on the new rubber which made the rubber sit higher .only because there was to much rubber to go in channel different texture on the new one a lot softer ,more like sponge than rubber

there is one,it is either beta auto or thompsons that has a larger base on it which makes it harder to fit and also sits to high , l fitted one of these to a club members car only to find it didn't fit well
l ended up cleaning up the original ,or it might have been an old rare spares one and before fitting found that the square base that fits it the channel was slightly smaller
made fitting easy and boot lid sat nice . hope this helps

lm the same , happy to help if l can with spare parts and advise people are after ,but my own project has been sitting on the rotisserie at the back of the shed now for 18 months . other projects sometime take priority over the wagon but l will get there one day , l still check in at least three times a day and enjoy looking at builds . l have plenty of pics but getting them up is frustrating sometimes especially for us oldies
keep up the good work moderators , great site
