Mate, you have plenty to choose from, if you don't need them all, give us a call.
I remember when i bought my FE in 1989 (GOA350) it came with Tasmans on it. I think when i had a clean up they went to the tip. Oh how i rue that day. If i only had my time again, but isn't hindsight a marvelous thing.

Hey Les,

Plan is to get 5 sandblasted (outers), outers will then be painted GTS wheel silver, centres redone gloss black & spokes polished.
May have to get the centres redrilled because apparently you can't get the correct wheel nuts for Tasmans anymore.

Dean. ;D

Shop around before you do, there are plenty of places making stuff like that or they can. Try Galaxy Wheels in Adelaide for starters.

We had a few come in the scrap next door the other day but they were fairly rusty. probably a baked beans tin or korean car by now.

but they were fairly rusty

Can always save the centres and get new outers put on.

Absolutely, they're definately worth saving regardless of the rim condition. You would be surprised how even the rusty rims can be brought up to a decent streetable finish, may not be concourse but perfect for a neat streeter. As long as the rim is still of sound construction, a coat of silver and a new chrome dress trim will make them look a million bucks! I'll post a before and after pic of a rim done just with basic tools and heaps of elbow grease. ;)

Jim, I somehow doubt that Dean will be upset....

More likely he'll be overjoyed to find that he's not the only 'TasmaNutter' on here!  ;D

Heres a bit of a history lesson that will probably surprise a few of you! Over the years, alot of wheels have been incorrectly called Tasmans, and thats probably because these wheels were considered junk and werent worth 2 bucks and no one really cared. Once i really started researching old Australian Mag Wheels, i was quite surprised at how many different brands and styles were actually available.

The wheel below is NOT a Tasman, they are actually ROH Rockets.

This wheel below IS a Tasman.

If you have any ROH Rockets, look at the stampings on the inside of the rim and you will most likely find 'ROK' stamped, this stands for Rubery Owens and Kelmsey, the company contracted to make these rims for ROH.

I feel inferior  :'( :P ;D

That wheel has come up a treat Jim, I was going to use a set on "Ratted out", but they might get polished up for the old girl now I think.

Dean.

There was a set on ebay a few months back, but the rear ones were pretty wide and had a huge dish, so wouldve limited what cars they would fit. Heres the add for them, they were pretty unique!

Mate, they are pretty straight forward to bring up nice, i just bought some basic polishing gear off ebay to do the spokes (polishing wheels for my buff and the appropriate compounds). The Tasman spokes come up real well pretty quickly, but the Rocket spokes take a bit more effort but still come up well. And if you cant get hold of the centre caps, 3 bar spinners fit well and look cool!

You have a the grey FC in the thread about you buying it back years later? They would look great on your car, nice and low and with a thin red wall on the tyres instead of the usual whitewalls! 60's COOL!! 8)
