I'm looking for some vinyl to repair a fe ute seat.
'Flow Red' is the GMH name (Interior Trim Code 685).
Any leads appreciated.

Rabbitoh, The utes, vans & standards had PVC material on the seats - only the specials had the elascofab material. This PVC is very hard to find (NOS impossible) Tony Galea has been looking for the same material to repair his FE standard wagon seats for 3 years now without luck. You may be able to find a wreck somewhere which you will be able to get a few pieces from if your lucky.
By the way the colour name is Fall Red.

Thanks for the reply Ken,
'Flow' Red indeed, my dyslexia knows no bounds.
I have a lead from a supplier in North Coburg who says his product is a close match to Fall Red. I will check it out this Saturday and if it looks half decent, I'll let Tony know.
Excuse my ignorance, I thought Elascofab was P.V.C.
What exactly is it then?

your'e right technically - elascofab was the name given to the all new material used on the FE special by GMH.
The FJ's used PVC material with a very grainy finish that was supposed to look like leather as used on the FX.
The elascofab was a smoother material and tougher than that used previously. A new gimmick name to entice new buyers.
But when it all came down to it elascofab was just another form of PVC.
Regards Ken
