Title: Exhaust pipe end (FE sedan)
Post by: JohnBM on August 25, 2018, 08:57:43 PM
I was after the correct look of the exhaust pipe tip as per original from the factory . Some time ago I was advised it was angled as opposed to a straight cut look . Thanks in advance

John,

An angle of about 30 degrees is about right, with the sharp leading edge cut off square.  I drew a sine-wave on graph paper: the period equal to the pipe's circumference, the amplitude a quarter of the pipe's circumference, then cut out the curve, taped the graph paper to the pipe, traced around with a felt pen, then cut with an angle grinder.

It's much easier to find someone who has a drop saw.

were FC sedans same ? I am happy with the existing system on my resto FC , except the tail pipe ,iv'e  been wondering what did they originally look like ,it ends about 8'' short of the rear bumper and turns down at the ground and is cut off parallel with the ground..If FC were the same ill make mine as Rob outlined.

This is the tail pipe end on our FE panel van

I think you will find that unless you have an original pipe you would have to cut it

Anyone have a genuine nos tailpipe with the cut off they want to sell
