Harko, here is some more firewood, this is a 1957 Carapark Cardman, how would you like to tow this up Bulli pass with an old grey?
I haven't had an opportunity yet to do so but we towed it home from Hurstville behind the Hiace no worries
Cheers

Wouldnt want to tow anything either up or down Buli behind a grey .
Its bad enough gritting your teeth in the every day flow of traffic wondering if your gonna stop let alone putting yourself into Buli willingly  lol

Awesome stuff guys , I have a favourite but cant seem to find it - stainless jobby behind a chopped v8 dub - trophy guy.
If I can find or snap a pic of it ill get it on here - its real cool.

Don't forget Harko
You got a 1/2 share in an old 1963 "Caravan Accessories "  ply van  ;D ..  All we gotta do is restore it "One Day"

Hey Norm, If Harkos gunna help with the van you'd better sharpen up the chain saw  ;D
Does any one recall seeing cars being driven through these old plywood vans as warm up entertainment at speedway events?

im guilty of this awful practice of gutting these old vans of all glass and metal fittings so they would not spear drivers in their bomber s,every season first race all around Australia they lined up for the caravan smash up derbies.but thats why all old things gain value, due to their treatment in the days when there was plenty.

Hi Harko,

My father took this photo many years ago, sorry I can't give you any details, looks like the van faired better than the car.

The crash photo doesn't want to be shown, sorry for all the attempts.

The above photo was my parents EJ and caravan and mum in 1962.
In those days the Sydney Caravan Show was a freebie at St Lukes Park Concord (now called Cintra Park).
The caravan club my parents belonged to held a procession of vans to the show. They then assembled in the show and were able to stay in their vans for the duration of the show.

Mal,

Rename the file and take out the ampersand (the "&" character).  Then try attaching it again.  I think you'll find that's what's causing the problem.

cheers

Les' picture had a similar problem - when linking from StarPhoto you MUST remove the "squiggly" line from the file name.

BAD

GOOD

Sorry 'bout that :-/. Starphoto keeps changing it's mind, sometimes you need the "squiggle" and other times you don't....gotta keep going back and modifying past posts... if I can find 'em all will be that next problem.... ::). I've changed most of 'em over last time StarPhoto swapped it over.... haven't had a chance to go back this-time 'round yet...

Cheers
Les...

notice how the van body has shot forward on axle, cant imagine that anyone lived after that huge impact.
