Hello,

After visiting fox studios and seeing a MASSIVE blown up pic of John Pisani's wagon (in the Osh Kosh ad) I noticed his upper tailgate had rubber bumpstops.

my rubber kit didnt have these,

I tracked some down on the Scotts website.
following part no etc.

Tailgate bump stop - ute/van      2      238.121      $15.33 pr

would these be the correct ones?  the above part seems to refer to a lower tailgate bump stop??

why would a ute/van have one but not wagon?

besides i noticed 4 holes on the upper tailgate where it looks like some rubber stops could be placed.

any help appreciated.

Cheers

Ed

Ed.
They sound like the rubber stops that are found on the bumperettes on the ute and van.

thanks for clarifying that Alex.

on closer inspection I reckon i can fit up some B pillar bump stops.

looks like they may only be used to stop the upper tailgate stays from rattling whilst the door is in the closed position.

Cheers

The upper tailgate bump stop rubber is about 50 mm long and goes between the 2 holes in the centre of the upper tailgate (inside).  It is used to stop the top tailgate hitting the lower tailgate when the lower tailgate has been raised first and the then the upper tailgate lowered onto it (ie the wrong way around).
This is a VERY RARE rubber as it is an unusual shape and easily broken off from original cars - BTW this is one of those things you would look for at the NOS warehouse because nobody would no what they are looking at or what it was for. So you would probably find one there.
