Hi Neil,
One on Ebay at the moment:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Fe-Holden-Fc-Holden-Fibreglass-Front-bonnet-guard_W0QQitemZ140268546112QQihZ004QQcategoryZ29695QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Seems expensive @$1200 considering there is also an EH one listed for $200.

    Thanks Trevor_B

I am in West Vic so the price of fuel and the time to go get it  puts it  way out of reach.

Not sure who makes them, but Kev Woolard's ute looks great with a tile front, and it's steel.

The ebay fibreglass one looks interesting but it would be nicer to see it fit up to a car.

Would it need bracing to stop it from flopping about?

Cheers

Ed

I believe this front was for sale on ebay as part of a complete car.
The car was sold and the new owner may be off loading the front.
I also believe that Kevin's steel front was used as the template for the mould.
That's what I hear anyways.  Wink

Fc Rocketship would be nice  Grin

I spoke to one of the guys who built Kev's tilt front and they also told me they made a very limited number of fibreglass versions, then destroyed the mould.

Cheers

I have a f/glass mould made from my steel tilt front. I also have a f/glass front sitting inside it. I have not sold anything to anybody,--- just for the record!  My 2 nose-cones have been done using this mould. As I don't intend doing anymore "tilt-fronts', I guess both the mould & f/glass front could be looking for a new home. A fully steel tilt front is a major undertaking. I found out "the hard way", how to do this. Would be happy to help with advice on hinging, locking and tie-down. These items are sitting gathering dust in my shed on the North Coast of NSW. Cheers Old-Blu.

I will never believe anything a person says about another persons car no matter who he/she is.

Kev, your steel tilt front is top quality.

Cheers

Hi Ed.  Stories are often embellished in the re-telling. Messages get mixed, quite often by mistake. My steel tilt front WAS used to make 2 f/glass fronts. The first, I have in the shed; the second was sold with a "chop-top" coupe unfinished project. I watched the coupe being built & the deal was to make a mould from my Ute in exchange for  *  the mould,  * the first f/glass copy  * two nose cones. The coupe has since been sold on. I am unsure if it will ever see the light of day. The mods were very extensive, very expensive as well as only part completed.  The mould was supposed to be destroyed!  The idea being, firstly, that the work involved in building the steel tilt front needed to be experienced to appreciate  the difficulties and secondly, how would you fix a price anyway?   The mould was made by a prof. boat builder who specialised in f/glass yachts. He also made my glass Ute lid.  When I saw the reinforcing that went into the mould, I could not bring myself to "smash it". Soooooo! It is in my shed all safe-n-sound.  So, the story you and Alex were told was partly correct.  I don't think I have enough years left in me to build another tilt front, so I guess it will be sold on in the future. The bottom line is this,----- every time I look @ the mould &/or the Ute, I recall with satisfaction the journey & the end result.   " Here endeth the lesson"    CHEERS Old-Blu.

Hey Kevin
I believe the front end for sale on ebay is the front from the chop top coupe.
I guess the new owner does want it to be flip front.

ahh the plot thickens.

Kev would you  mind sharing a pic of the mould?

I'm interested in fibreglass fabrication, I'd love to see it.

Cheers
