61  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: inner sills on: June 06, 2019, 08:29:35 PM

Made them up in one piece for my van. 1.6mm 18 gauge but no dimple pressings like you can get now. No crush tubes as I will use the factory style bolts with the step shoulder. I overlapped the front of the number one body member for a bit of extra bracing.

all you needfor the dimples is some round bar and a bit of pipe.smash the round bar into the pipe .it will give a similar look .....or press it if ya got one.

Nothing special. But easy to make. I made it out of 2mm for extra strength. Welded rhs on other side and will use pipe for crush tube. Sorry no pics of that yet

I'm happy I can move forward  knowing there's no rust anywhere in the firewall now.

Got some rust done where subframe bolts on, and decided to delete wiper motor and wiring loom holes. Seems like I've done so much but hardly anything to show for it in the last week. All those little details take time that no-one sees. I'm happy though.

So the booster was out..... Well I need to prep the area...... Oh well better get the engine out and do it properly.
But I don't have an engine crane. Hmm I know to get it out!
