Picked up the latest issue of Cruzin magazine and there was a pic of some alloy sideplates at the Toowoomba Swap.

Thanks for putting up the pic Alex. Never seen an Amos sideplate before.
SRVLIVES, $250 is a fair price for an alloy sideplate,as they are fairly rare these days.

Cheers

Looks like a phone number in the corner of the photo.  I'm guessing Brisbane number 07 3808 1082.

Shayne.
I hope you checked with Lindsay before posting that! Otherwise, it is NOT GOOD. Lindsay doesn't really like to be hassled too much.

Just read Sarges post & that is correct. He just shows these off. I know him well & he won't sell to me. He may get peeved at the calls. Sorry, Shayne. Don't mean to be a hassle :-/

Hi Guy's
I was at the swap meet and the alloy items on the board were not for sale, Just for show. Huh

I did not stop and chat as my feet  were sore and my legs felt like jelly. The Toowoomba swap covers one huge area and a shit load of walking is required.

Cheers Jim

It's got PH and then an eight digit number.  Didn't take a lot of guess work.  I don't reckon the magazine would have asked him for permission before printing the photo?
Anyways, they are certainly rare these days, and are always good to see.
Another bloke in Brisbane was looking into getting some more made a few years back, didn't hear if he ever went through with it.  He was into FX & FJ stuff.  He had a Repco crossflow head fitted into an FX at one stage.

Thanks Shayne, I did notice that but I also respect the guys privacy, thus my question to Rob, if he didnt have the details and the permission to pass them on then he doesnt want to be hassled!! He has probably been swamped by the mag article and I really dont want to add to the annoyance.
Thanks again anyway

Hi.
That's right, Matt. I saw the number & am surprised the mag didn't fuzz it out, but it is for the car that is listed below his display. He gets a LOT of calls, all asking for his stuff that he doesn't want to sell.

Hey Guys,
I left a message for Lindsay today and he returned my call after checking this thread.
In short if your interested in a alloy sideplate and or timing cover leave you interest expressed here on this thread and he will discuss it with his friend and they may do a limited run of both. No cost was discussed.
So if your keen get typing  Cheesy

He will check this thread for those interested

Seems like a very likeable enthusiast of "old grey" motors, especially hotties

I have left my expressions of interest  Grin  Grin

I would be interested in one of each, cost dependant of course.  I know of 2 blokes in Toowoomba who have been chasing sideplates.  I will contact them to check on their interest level.

I would be interested in a matching set as well, gotta keep one stock, the other will get "dressed up"

Incidently, I have two alloy rocker covers, one has no name on the cover anywhere I can find, and the other which is the same style (raised fins) has "Speco" on it, any idea which is better! someone told me one was a holden one??? (doubt it) and I know speco was aftermarket, can anyone shed some light on this?

I'm interested in a set too.  They'll help to stop my Kleinig twin breather rocker cover from looking like a shag on a rock.   Cool
