Now that I have your attention
Snap Sacs are the plastic inserts that are pushed into the door trim clip holes, generally at the top of the door to stop water reaching the door trim clips or the door trim itself.
Could someone with an unmolested car let me know how many are used exactly on each door?

Hi Stinky. Remove the door cards & count up the number of round holes. They go down each side & across the bottom of each door. Simple! Cheers old-blu.

I thought they were only used on the upper holes?
One of the old wrecks that I had, which appeared untouched, only had the tops and maybe a couple down each side

My memory of the EK door cards are like this too. The door has more holes (and the trim more clips) than the number of Snap Sacs required. On the EK, some of the door holes are so small that the clip will go in, but the Snap Sac will not.
Cheers,

I believe you are correct Glenn, the parts book is not very helpful with this item and I don't have a car here.
However, I feel they go across the top and down the catch side of the door. I don't think they go down the hinge side or across the bottom.
My feeling is the holes are different diameters, if you try to push the "snap sac" plastic thingy into the smaller holes, it folds up inside or just won't go in properly. This makes the door trim clip very tight and hard to remove.

In that photo I notice the obvious difference in the hole sizes and it appears that there are a few missing . I may be wrong .

There are two size holes...just try with the clips
there is just over a mm difference
The photo may be misleading..all the holes without the snap sacs are the same... smaller than the snap sac holes
I also checked with a rear sedan door ..they have snap sacs along the bottom, all the hinge side inc the top one and one on the opening side
half way around the curve
8 snap sacs and 5 clip holes in total
