Phantom I have mounted Effie's in the glovebox and mounted a stacker in the boot, once the cd is set in motion how often do you change the volume anyway. I have found that even with the unit mounted in the glovebox I can still reach the volume buttons. Mre modern units hav remote controls so you just point and shoot. Effie's glove box is still functional as I built a metal box to fit the mounting bracket and mounted within the glove box to the floor.
The best thing is with the lid shut no one knows it is there.

Phantom If you earth out the connection on the top of the fuel tank sender unit the gauge should read full, this is a quick test of wiring and the gauge itself without having to dismantle anything drastic. If the gauge does not move could be bad wiring or the gauge itself, if it moves could be a bad earth on the fuel tank to body or the sender unit (float may have sunk) Effie C

As Craig has said straight to the emergency department of the hospital, if left in the metal starts to rust and can cause serious eye damage. The doctors will place drops in your eye and then clamp your head in a vise style structure so you can not move. They then shine a light in your eye and using the needle from a syringe they flick the piece of metal out of your eye.
Does not sound nice but this is what it takes (I have had to go through this about four times now and yes I was wearing safety glass's as well).
Don't stuff around as that little piece of metal can send you blind if left in there.

Adjustment is also required to allow for free travel adjustment; without free travel you run the risk of the master cyclinder staying slightly on and therefore having brake drag. Effie C

Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: Twin point Vs Electronic distributor

Thanks for the help. I tend to give ebay the miss as I'm not fond of sending money to people I don't know and not been able to see things first hand. Is anyone with much knowledge on regraphing?
Regards Dave Dave I bought my electronic unit off EBay, when it arrived it was not the item in the picture from the auction, when I queried the seller it appeared they had mixed up and sent me the wrong unit, they then refunded all monies and told me to keep the unit for my trouble. I check out the seller and they turned out to be a wrecking yard. Some people on EBay are honest, as to wether it will need regraphing will depend on what your motor has done to it, if it varies from standard (that is the standard of the motor the distributor came from) then yes you will have to get it regraphed to suit your modified motor. Any good speed shop should be able to recommend a reputable shop to do the job. Effie C

Custom carpet would be required though if you do trans tunnel mods. This is something I will need to address soon, my investigations lead me to believe a FB/EK carpet would fit the Rod Shop trans tunnel mod. Glen Order carpets for the EK auto body, same floor pan but with the bigger tunnel

Does anyone know where to get a crash box bearing kit? I havent had much luck in the usual car part shops. What about new gears? My first reverse sliding gear has some hardfacing coming off. Is there a store that sells em? Thanks andy Rare Spares sell bearing kits, or I had my box rebuilt at Gabba Gearbox,s in Brisbane / Gold coast, they managed to be able to supply new mainshaft, gears and all, they reckon readily available.
