HI Do all FC models have the same size tailshafts, if so what is the diameter ?
And will a EK diff fit in a FC wagon without any mods ?
Thanks

Yes. All FE-EK (manuals) have the same driveshaft. Two-and-a-half-inch outside diameter.
And yes, EK diffs are identical to FC. But unless you are planning to tow a trailer or run the wagon fully loaded, I'd suggest a 3.55 diff (optional on EH-HG) instead.

Don't forget that the ek spring saddles are slightly wider due to wider springs. It's not much but may get interesting fitting bottom plates. Use the ek ones and maybe the rubbers as well. The locating pin bolts and torqued up rubbers will hold the narrower springs well enough.

Ah yeah, good point. I was just thinking diff centre, not the entire rear axle.
Wonder if an 1/8" wide steel strip on each side of the FC rear springs would help . . .

Thanks for the replies, I'll have a look when I pick up the diff
