Thanks Pedro, I'm OK now. It's bound to happen - nails and cars are not a good combination at times (very handy for some things though - like masking fine edges, cleaning in tight areas etc).  I'd rather have the car progressing and, especially, driveable than a nice set of (real) nails anyday!  Cheesy

A strengthened glovebox insert and lid are back in/on now, stereo's been mounted in there and a small amount of wiring is all that's required before we'll have music for the trip!

careful dean,
you dont know who you messing with here.
kathi has some remarkable powers and a desire to adorn her vehicles with sections of deceased fauna Grin Grin Grin
Deano, you were right.

I don't know how Kathi organised it to poor down rain whilst I was under the car doing up the uni joint, thought I was going to stay dry till the wall of water came across the concrete, then all I could think was "the nails, the nails, I taunted the nails" Cheesy

Oh well, you live & learn Grin.

They made the extractors themselves - nice to be able to do stuff like that!

Paul's on the money - John built them.

Well, not much more we can do now, some things we're super happy with while others leave a little to be desired but they will stay just as they are for the short term (paint and body= long term).  Trim is yet to be fully completed (I hear they've upped the security at the Zoo) - we've got temporary boards and carpet in the cargo area that'll be replaced when a full headlining goes in at a later stage. But overall, the interior is comfy, serviceable and just a little bit different - exactly what we were after.  Smiley

On the whole........ John and I are very happy to have the little van back on the road (warts and all) and are looking forward to enjoying it as much as we can.

So this is what waxed Zebra looks like?  Wink

Been busy since Orange and in amongst a general clean up we've finally painted the garage floor.

Beautiful day today so we took off to Victor Harbour for a pub lunch and ended up taking a few shots of the little van while we were there! It's drives well and is super comfy on nice long drives and what's even better is that it's also functional - we can load up the back with swap meet treasures or fill it full of plants to refurbish the garden.  IMHO it's great little van cos it's exactly how I always dreamed it would be! I couldn't be happier!  Grin

ditto; that van is very 'mmmmmmmmmm'

incidentally, what is that poor forlorn neglected and apparently-forgotten black thing in the background of the garage pic?  Wink
