I hope someone maybe able to help me with this problem. About 6 to 8 weeks ago I painted out the engine bay in me FC ute. To do this I diconnected all the wires including the head lights. Once finished I put all wires back in the positions where they came from.

However, since then I have found that the lights on dip are dull. Also they dull slowish when dipped from high beam. I have also noticed that the high beam indicator light (idiot light) is partially illuminated when on dip. (I am unsure if this was the case previously.

Oh, by the way the lights have halogen inserts, not the normal globes.

Many thanks in antipication.

It sounds like a dirty earth situation. Remove all the earth wires from the headlights, and clean them up untill they are shinny with emry tape.  I had the same problem, try this,, it may work.
hope this helps.
