At the risk of having this dumped in the "too hard basket", what are the chances of a Convoy coordinator?
Someone who can take details of Club and individual travel details to aid in the forming up of convoys,
eg :
Broken Hill - SA Club 31st March leaving 2pm,
Albury - Vic Club leaving 12 noon.
Not only do convoys look cool and provide great video/picture oportunities, it helps when there is a breakdown etc.

There will be a convoy from Canberra.  The details are not yet organised, but there's a good chance we will meet the Vics in Cowra.

Surferboy - I see from your itinerary that you will be leaving from Canberra.  You are welcome to travel in the Canberra convoy.

More details when they exist.

Cheers

Good idea Stinky.

The far south contingent of the ACT club departs Adelaide 30/3/10 at whatever time they see fit on the day and will travel through Lameroo, Balranald etc onto Hay for an overnighter.  Then it'll be up to Orange on the 31st after they've had a nice brekky!  Grin  Happy to catch up with anyone on the way.

The Vic convoy has been exceptionally well organised by Simon with arrival / departure times and venues, accomodation bookings arranged both on the way up and back as well.
It has been sent to all our members and is the best convoy organising information sheet I have ever seen.
It is a real credit to you Simon.

My family is leaving Townsville on Sat 27th march, taking a week to cruise there towing the camper trailer along the way. Not sure whether to go coast road or inland. Will take the opposite route back also taking a week. regards fred

I am almost organised. Somalia is proving to be a problem so I think a pump action may be required. After that should be good... Will be leaving next week!  Grin

Dean

We will be leaving Brisbane (Redbank Plains Shopping Plaza) on the wednesday, hope to get away around 7.45am.
Heading to Warwick where we will pick up a couple of members along the way and then make our way to Narrabri.
I think we have just about booked out the local Caravan Park.
The next day we will cruise down the Newell highway arriving in Orange after lunch.

The Tassie contingent will start with a quiet little drive from Hobart to Devonport on the 27th and board a luxury liner for an exciting trip across the strait to Melbourne where we shall rest and recouperate for a couple of day (meaning Grand Kids)
We shall then tootle off on the 30th towards Wodonga (via Shepperton) for an overnighter with friends and a couple of glasses of red just to be hospitable. We will the next day, the 31st, meander on to Cootamundra for an overnight stay and by the looks of the Vic's itinerary we will definately be able to join the convoy at, or near Cootamundra and arrive on the 1st at orange.

See you all on the road or at Orange

Cheers

Some of you should experience the itinnery which we are required to keep up with when FE ambo is given the task.  Grin

From memory he knows well in advance (ie months before the event) when bathroom breaks are going to be required and allows time to un-zip, zip .  Almost works into the equation how many red lights we will encounter and how long each wil hold us up for.

****** No Not those kind of red lights ******  Roll Eyes

Its all good fun and adds to the challenge of the road trip

I started the WA convoy back on December 12 2009, so far I have cleared the way to Adelaide, I am now having to wait here for the rest to catch up. They say I will have to Wait Awhile.

I expect to depart Adelaide on Thursday the 1st, overnight at Hay and drive in to Orange on Good Friday. I should have a few WA members in tow if all goes well.

Cheers Jim
