I found this in yesterday’s digital news - a 1959 shot at Perth Airport. A few nice old cars flanked by a FE/FC wagon at one end and sedan at the other.
Cheers,
John

Cool photo John I still remember in the late 70's having to get out of the plane and walk across the tarmac it really was a sleepy town in those days.

John,
Fresh from the Wayback Machine indeed - a DC-6, a couple of TAA Viscounts, and a Comet in the background, in BOAC colours.

You know your planes, Rob 😀
Here’s the caption that came with it
Ansett-ANA DC-6B, TAA Vickers Viscount, two BOAC Comets and a South African Airways DC-7B occupy the apron in 1959. The Comets, which operated from Sydney to London, were in Perth because of fuel contamination in Darwin, their normal stop.

What about the cars? My guess is FE/FC standard wagon, Austin A40, Hillman minx , Austin A30, Austin A70, Vanguard 10 & some "sloper", [ maybe a dodge?]. Then the FC 225, possibly a 3 tone .

Thanks mate, I was wondering what they might be. At first I thought the second from the front was a rust bucket, but it’s probably brown paint😀

The blue car, fourth from front . . . doesn't quite look like an A30 (grandfather had one). I thought humpy Holden for a while, but it's a two-door, and the rear guards aren't quite Holden: maybe a Morris Minor?

The Vanguard, [3rd from the top], was called "the Spacemaster], it carried the same engine as the famous grey fergie tractor.
