I have bought another 202 red motor, owner said was in good condition, has been sitting around for a while, what are some basic clean up jobs I need to do to it prior to fitting e.g. do I take off the head etc

The first thing to do is pull out all the welsh plugs and thouroughly pressure clean the gunk out of the water jacket.
Probably advisable to take the head off as 1 or 2 valves will have been open all this time and some moisture may have got into the cylinder bore.
Water pump may be stuffed by now as well.
